This week I undertook a lot of pleasant things. I paid a maternity visit to my niece, celebrated the birthday of my grandfather (he turned 89), had a lovely dinner with friends, stayed at my parents for an evening and today I did virtually nothing, except for taking a long bath and read a book. I also bought a few great things at the Oxo-sale this week (I’ll show pictures later) had lunch with Anki and Wolf, and the cats were very happy with me buying grass for them. And of course I was very pleased to see my love T. coming home from snowboarding today in one piece. With a beard.

These are my only housemates this weekend: Schurk (in English: Rascal, on the photo’s lower right) and Aart (photo on top and lower left). My love T. is snowboarding for the weekend, but I’m glad I have these little socialites around.

De bovenste kussenhoes is I Can Hear Myself Think, een ontwerp van Lilley and Skinner.

Wat een geniaal project is Back to the Future van fotograaf Irina Werning.

What a brilliant project is Back to the Future by photographer Irina Werning. Optically surprising to see two almost identical pictures next to each other. But the idea to put someone in the bodice of some thirty years ago is also genious and a bit absurdistic. Why didn’t I came to think of this?

The best part of my road to work are the small bridges. How wondrous would it be if a bridge like this is your link to the outside world?

This week this orchid made me happy, it was a present from my mother-in-law . Years ago I told her that I liked orchids and she remembered it. In honour of the good news at my work, she bought it for me. This week I enjoyed the surprise visit from my mum for cookies and tea, I had a very amusing dinner at the end of my workweek and this morning I ate delicious cheesecake with a friend at Dit‘s!

My road to work. Photographed with my Agfa, which creates extraordinary effects on a sunny day. With a snowdrop and fairytale scenery.

We are still working very hard in our future kitchen. In the meantime we have to be able to cook of course. That is why we transferred the old seventies kitchen to our future livingroom. With water and a gas cooker, we don’t much more. Although I really look forward to the moment we will have a real kitchen again!

Marimekko

Twee druppels water, toch? En fantastisch voor pizza!

One of my favourite Scandinavian brands is Marimekko. Last summer I was in Copenhagen and in the Marimekko-flagshipstore I saw so much great stuff, I didn’t know where to look. The plate above for example, the Räsymatto plate. I loved it, but it was way too expensive. A while ago I found the plate below at a thriftstore. Looks quite alike, don’t you think? And it’s a fantastic pizza-plate!
