Part four of my home tour. Even though I know the amount of blog readers will be little (here in the Netherlands, every one that isn’t on a holiday is probably apathetic because of the heatwave), but I love showing our home way too much to stop sharing it. So for the diehards amongst you: this is our bedroom. I realised I never took the time to take pictures of the amazing one of a kind Zilverblauw wallpaper we have put on the wall three years ago. This spring Anki and Casper launched a fantastic collaboration with Kwantum called Wown. For everyone that wants a piece of this fabulous striped wallpaper for a fabulous price, do check out their collection of wallpapers here.

While I was taking these pictures, Maan and T. were around too. Maan was persistent to take photo’s with the big camera, so T. helped her taking these pictures of Aart Staartjes and me. If I didn’t set the settings myself, I would start to think she is such a talented photographer.

It has been a while since I have shared our bathroom. Four years to be exact. I have always enjoyed our bath tub and whirlpool, but since we’ve been able to take baths with Maan it feels even more like a luxury.

A few weeks ago Maan and I received two presents from Moluk via Dam Good Ideas: Oogifant and Boi. These toys are meant to trigger the imagination of kids and that is exactly what they do. Maan likes to play with the penguin (as she calls it) and especially loves the splashes it makes in the water. She thinks the Oogifant is funny too. It caused a bit of a laugh with my friends though. Because of course Maan made me wear it. I wanted to secure it really tight, placed it vacuum on my forehead and wore it for a few minutes. When I took it off, it hurt a little. T. looked at me and said: what is that spot on your head? It resulted in a hickey-like spot that lasted for days. So a disclaimer for every adult that starts playing with it: don’t take it too seriously!

The final picture shows our second bathroom. Opposite to the room where we have the bath tub and the large sink, we have our shower room and toilet. It is a bit harder to take decent pictures of it, but this sneak peek wouldn’t be complete without a glance in our shower room.

Apparently, it takes wanting to sell a house to finish all the details. These sliding doors for example: we found them online years ago, garden doors from the 1920s, bought pieces of vintage looking glass to fit in them and then… had other priorities. A few weeks ago the day finally came that we’ve placed them between the front part of the living room and the dining part. It feels so good to dot the i’s on our amazing project. On to the next one!

It has been a while since my last post, but I’ve got a good reason for being absent… we bought another home and already sold our home! All in three months time. It all went by so fast that we didn’t have time to do anything else apart from arranging things for getting our home ready for selling, trying to get a mortgage and arranging stuff for the moment we own the new home (I can hardly believe it, but we’ve bought a renovation project, yet again. It seems perfect for our family though, so I believe it will all be worth it).

On my instagram-feed and in my stories, I have shared a bit more about the process. Some of my followers asked when they could see more pictures of our home on the site of our estate agent, but our home was sold before it came online. I’ve documented our home when it was all glammed up for future owners of course, so I’ve decided to make a series of blogposts to show you different parts of our home.

Starting off today with our kitchen and scullery. My love renovated the kitchen almost entirely by himself. It is an American Kitchen by Franke. When you click on the American Kitchen tag you can see how it looked before. In the utility room went quite some blood, sweat and tears too: T. and his dad cleaned the antique tiles and they made the terrazzo skirting boards by themselves. I trapped him to be in some pictures as well, because what is a pretty house without your loved ones, right?
