Blessed

I’ve worked a lot this week, but gladly I also had time to give a moments thought to the beautiful things in life: the pretty sunrise, a teak desk found on the street (which I hope we’ll be able to salvage for the most part) and today I’ve spent with my family. Amongst other things, we’ve visited a vineyard and tasted different (delicious) biologically produces wines.

Lomo-saturday: DDW III

Officially no lomo’s, but I think this role fits in today anyway. I saw at Piet Hein Eek: floating bikes, old collections, new luxury and on top of that bottleboats by Floris Hovers. It doesn’t get better than this, does itFor more Lomo-saturday take a look at the blogs of initiator Anki, Casper, Mireille, Marrit, Nikki, Aukje, Judith, Marcia, Daan, Sacha and Nine.

DDW II

Designduo Kiki and Joost moved to a new studio, workshop and showroom at Strijp-T a couple of months ago. During DDW they’ve opened their space for the public and for an exposition called T-Presentation. Gosh, so much beauty my head was spinning. On the top to the left drawings on a line (I wasn’t able to find out who the artist is) and to the right a few phenomenal products by Ontwerpduo. Last year I found these lamps to be very inspiring already and I rediscovered them on my Woonbeurs-pictures too.

The work of Kiki and Joost and the way they designed their space, were to me the biggest surprise of last saturday. Above to the left you see a part of their showroom and to the right Kiki’s installationNursery, where seeds and germs are being pampered.

DDW I

The role was stuck or wasn’t rewinded properly, according to the photographer. It gives a strange rainbow over my pictures and I quite like it.
I took the pictures above in the Klokgebouw, where a lot of designers presented their work. On the top left you see chairs from the The Happy Misfits: Eames Family-series, by Rutger de Regt. On the top right my T. eating a grilled chicken sandwich. On the lower left a work of art from the exposition Pekka: Contemporary illustration of Finland, from the land of booze and blondes (I wasn’t able to find out who the artist is) and on the lower right ‘I like it, what is it?’-lamps by Annebet Philips.
Both in the Klokgebouw and outside we saw beautiful things. The gorgeous chair on the left stood in the Studio WM.-stand, the goat head (or so I think) was hanging in the wild and the pyramid of tiles we found at Strijp-T, in a room where Terratorium showed their ceramic tiles.

Muur

My wall could use a winter theme. It started with the penguin print by Rock that horse and the frame I painted white. It had me puzzled for a while but last week I found the balance.

New on my wall are the retro fabric stretched in an embroidery frame from the thrift store (I spray-painted the edges in neon pink), a card by Jessica Nielsen, an anchor by Lenneke Wispelwey and a vintage postcard with silk-screen print by Image de Julie.

Blessed

Today is the last day of our autumn-holiday and we’ve had another lovely week. We were able to paint some outside, went to get building-stuff, did some small chores, went shopping, went out for dinner and I saw that the pillow I gave away found a nice home at Maud‘s.
Yesterday we went to the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. There was so much to see that we’ve only visited a few locations, but we came home inspired. Above some pictures taken at Piet Hein Eek‘s. I’ve shot an entire filmrole yesterday and am curious to see what I’ve captured on the photo’s.

Nikon

Our holiday is turning out nice: we are doing some tasks, fun things and doing this at a relaxed pace. My mum came to help for a day: we have been fixating the walls of the living room, hallway and stairwell with size and all the walls suit the seventies kitchen momentarily. As a reward for the hard work we ordered delicious sushi. For more Count your Blessings-participants look at Anki’s blog.
