Yellow

I have to admit I bought this pineapple because I thought it was so pretty. My love said: I hope the pictures didn’t turn out ok, because I kinda want you to buy another one. I had to agree, a fresh pineapple is de-li-cious.

The shell bowl and the yellow cup, I bought at a recent fleamarket. I love the fact that it’s fleamarket season again!

Ik moet toegeven dat ik deze ananas kocht omdat ik hem zo mooi vond. Mijn lief zei: ik hoop dat de foto’s mislukt zijn, want ik zou best blij zijn als je er nog een koopt. En ik was het wel met hem eens, zo lekker, zo’n verse ananas.

Het schelpenkommetje en de gele mok kocht ik pas op een rommelmarkt. Ik ben zo blij dat het weer rommelmarkt-seizoen is!

Precious

A few weeks ago, I received two precious gifts: my mom gave me a ring that belonged to my grandma and my dad also gave me a ring. He gave my sister and me the wedding rings that belonged to my grandma, granddad and his own (I’d rather give it now, then when I’m gone, he said). We went to goldsmith Tom Nouwens and we each designed our own ring. I am thrilled.

The candle holder is by DeKoop and named Isolde. I bought it at Le Diorama and stuck it to a vintage saucer.

Een paar weken geleden kreeg ik twee bijzondere cadeaus: mijn moeder gaf me een ring die van mijn oma is geweest en mijn vader gaf me ook een ring. Hij gaf mijn zusje en mij de trouwringen van mijn oma, opa en van zichzelf (liever nu dan dat ik er niet meer ben, zei hij). We gingen naar goudsmit Tom Nouwens en ontwierpen ieder een eigen ring. Ik ben er enorm blij mee.

De kandelaar is van DeKoop en heet Isolde. Ik kocht hem Le Diorama en plakte hem op een vintage schoteltje.

Treasure hunting

I just love thrift stores, it feels like going on a treasure hunt. Because I know I am a hoarder I don’t immediately buy everything I like. The mint pan for example, I left it on the shelve. Stupid because I love how it fits in my kitchen.

The latest of my crushes is marble. I loved it as a kid, so I embraced this marble trend. My sweet sister knows about my collection and found me this pretty vase. I love how marble combines with practically everything.

Ik hou enorm van kringlopen, het voelt als schatzoeken. Omdat ik weet dat ik nogal een verzamelaar ben, koop ik niet meer meteen alles wat ik leuk vind. De mintgroene pan bijvoorbeeld. Ik liet hem op de plank staan. Stom, want hij blijkt prachtig in mijn keuken.

Mijn laatste crush is marmer. Ik hield er al van als kind, dus ik omarmde de marmertrend. Mijn zusje wist dat en vond een prachtige vaas voor me. Marmer combineert zo mooi, het past bijna overal bij.

Jumping Rupert

I was on an involuntary blogbreak due to some software problems. But they seem to be solved and I am so glad to be able to blog again!

Putting away the Christmas decorations always leaves a void. Thank God for Jumping Rupert! This octopus is by Gommini and I found him a couple of months ago at &Klevering. I think he is hilarious.

Ik had een onvrijwillige blogbreak door stomme software problemen. Die lijken nu opgelost en ik ben zo blij dat ik weer gewoon kan bloggen!

Het opruimen van alle Kerstspullen laat altijd nogal een leegte achter. Maar gelukkig heb ik Jumping Rupert! Deze octopus is van Gommini vond ik een paar maanden geleden bij &Klevering. Ik vind hem geweldig grappig.

Christmas II

I’m still using my rack and diamond ornaments. I think they work really well together. Most of the ornaments are found at thrift stores or flea markets. The little deer in the fourth picture is by Planet Fur.

Ik gebruik mijn rek met diamanten hangers nog steeds. Ik vind het een goed team samen. De meeste kerstspullen vond ik in kringlopen en op rommelmarkten. Het kleine hert op de vierde foto is van Planet Fur.

Souvenirs

What I love most about going on a holiday, is going to foreign thrift stores and interior design shops. So inspiring, especially in Scandinavia. I found the watering can and pink glass bowl thrifting in Sweden and I bought the plate and tray at Lagerhaus.

Talking about inspiration: I stumbled upon a few great video’s at Inspiration Point with Jonathan Adler a couple of days ago. I am a big fan of Jonathan Adler’s work, it’s so good, fun and clever. Be sure to check these video’s out, I think they’re phenomenal. Enjoy!

Waar ik het meest van houd op vakantie, is om naar buitenlandse kringlopen en interieurwinkels te gaan. Zo inspirerend, vooral in Scandinavië. Ik vond de gieter en het roze schaaltje in een Zweedse kringloop en kocht het bordje en het dienblad bij Lagerhaus.

Over inspiratie gesproken: een paar dagen geleden kwam ik geweldige filmpjes tegen op Inspiration Point with Jonathan Adler. Ik ben groot fan van zijn werk, het is zo mooi, grappig en slim. De video’s zijn echt de moeite waard, geniet ervan!

Holiday home

Just like last year in France, we found a perfect holiday home. In the middle of a Swedish forest this time. Everything was so small and cute. I loved the old fashioned decor and T. especially loved lighting the fire every night.

Net als vorig jaar in Frankrijk, vonden we dit jaar een perfect vakantiehuisje. Middenin een Zweeds bos. Alles was zo klein, schattig en kneuterig. Ik vond de ouderwetse inrichting geweldig en T. vond het vooral fantastisch om elke avond een vuurtje te stoken.
